1 - Wash the pads before the first use.

2 - Place the pad in your underwear with the absorbent facing upwards. Adjust the snaps to so the pad fits snugly around your underwear.

3 - After use, rinse the pad until the water runs clear. If you cannot immediately rinse the pad, place it in a waterproof bag until you can do so (do not store for longer than 24 hours).

4 - Soak the pad in cold water if necessary (no longer than 24 hours).

5 - Wash in cold or lukewarm water, on a gentle cycle.

6 - Stretch the pad out with your hands so it regains its shape.

7 - Hang at a well-ventilated, non-humid place and let dry fully.

8 - Once the pad is dry throughout, store in a dry place until your next period.

FAQ

  • Our pads come in both teen and adult sizes, but the best thing is that you can wear whichever size fits your needs best.

    • Pantyliners: 17 cm (teen), 18 cm (adult) – perfect for spotting, light flow, or cup backup.
    • Size M pads: 22 cm (teen), 25 cm (adult) – for regular flow days.
    • Size L pads: 26 cm (teen), 30 cm (adult) – ideal for heavy flow or overnight use.

Teen sizes are slightly shorter, but otherwise identical to the adult pads, and have the same wing width as adult sizes, making them a favourite for adults who want a more discreet fit.

  • Simple, eco-conscious materials.

For the absorbent layer, we use a magical combo of 55% hemp and 45% organic cotton (hello, natural absorbency and anti-bacterial power!). This fabric is GOTS certified.
For the main body of the pad, we use 100% recycled PUL made of PET bottles and textile waste - it's soft and breathable, while also protecting you from leaks. Our PUL fabric has OEKO-TEX certification, and it's also certified to be free of PFAS.

  • Yes, on low heat, if you’re in a rush. But for the longest life, we recommend air drying whenever possible, as heat can shorten the life of the waterproof layer.

  • We get it... PUL fabric (polyurethane laminate) has a bad reputation, and for a good reason. But ours is different.

The PUL in Arei pads is made with a non-toxic, solvent-free process that permanently bonds the waterproof layer to the fabric without releasing harmful chemicals.

This same PUL fabric is used in high-quality baby cloth diapers - it's perfectly safe for newborn babies, and also for your delicate body parts.

So just to be clear: our fabric contains no phthalates, no lead, and no BPA.

  • That depends on your flow and how often you do laundry. A good starter kit is:

    • 4-6 pantyliners
    • 6-8 size M pads
    • 3-4 size L pads

You can always build up your collection over time. Trust us: once you try them, you’ll want more.

  • Because we don’t cut corners.

Our pads are made with premium, ethical, and costly materials:

🌿 Hemp – one of the most absorbent, durable, and naturally antibacterial fibers available.

🌱 Organic cotton – soft, breathable, and grown without harmful pesticides.

♻️ Recycled PUL – for a leak-proof layer that’s safe for you and the planet.

These fabrics cost more, but they perform better, last longer, and are gentler on your skin and the Earth.

And here’s the good news: while disposables keep draining your wallet (and filling landfills), our reusable pads last for years. That means they’ll pay for themselves within a few cycles. Long-term, you’ll save money and waste.

  • Not when wearing an Arei pad. Thanks to the smart, anatomically shaped design and the hemp-organic cotton absorbent, Arei pads are the most comfortable cloth pads out there.

  • Both are solid choices, but cloth pads come with a few underrated perks:

✔️ Easier to change during the day – No need to fully undress like with period underwear. Just pop off the pad, snap on a clean one, and you're good.

✔️ Faster drying – Pads air-dry way quicker after washing, so they're easier to reuse while traveling or living minimally.

✔️ No mystery coatings – Unlike some period underwear, Arei pads are free from antimicrobial silver, PFAS, or other questionable additives.

✔️ More customizable – Choose the absorbency and length you need. And you can wear them with the undies you already love.

Cloth pads offer more flexibility, transparency, and convenience, especially when you're out and about.
